A nice, lazy weekend...

We had the most relaxing weekend! Kyle's parents were out fo town, so we stayed at their house, watched over their new kittens, swam and took it very easy. It was just what we all needed!

Molly still likes her floaty ladybug
Daddy can be so silly!
A sassy pose to show off her cute swim suit
The girls
My 2 loves!

The main event of the weekend is that Molly got some roller skates. Do ya'll remember the ones that are plastic, fit over your shoes and are adjustable? Well these are the same ones- except Princess- so you know Molly was over the moon for these!
Trying to stand up..
Getting the hang of it...
Molly kept saying " I looooove to roller skate!"

Molly has really been a hoot this past week. She has asked me the funniest questions:
1. "What is your nickname, Mommy? "
2. "What kind of music do you like, Mommy?"
3. "What's your favorite thing, Mommy?"
4. "Where is that car going, Mommy?" (She always says Target, of course!)
The WHY has also started- she asks plain old "why" all the time- but has started asking really funny "why's" like "Why is he a boy?" or "Why am I little?" SO funny. We try to answer her as honestly as we can- but some of it is getting tricky. She keeps us on our toes- that is for sure!

There's no place like home...

Molly and I just got back from a WONDERFUL week in Kansas! It was so fun and relaxing. Molly was a champ on the car ride up and down- yahoo! We had fun going to my favorite places in Wichita and just hanging out with my family. Molly really, really enjoyed herself. Molly has her own room at my Mom's that is FULL of toys- Barbies, books, babies, princesses, all her faves. Molly spent an entire day just picking up each toy and saying "Oh, my! Look at this toy!". Being in Kansas is so relaxing to me- I don't realize how busy Dallas is! It was very, very hard to leave- in fact if I wasn't teaching Sunday School I probably would have stayed a few extra days. Molly was very sad top leave and still asks about Ninny, Uncle Matty and Gampy multiple times a day and tells me that she feels sad because she misses them.  We miss so all so much!

Molly loves this pose. When she does it she says "Ooooh... I'm just little Molly!" Ha!

Trying very hard to pout

Me and my girl. Could we look any more different?!? She is her Daddy's girl! Except for the random blond hair!

Molly was so brave at the petting zoo!
Swimming with Gampy

What a beach babe!

Posing on Gampy's canoe!

Molly loves Gampy

My Little Croc!

Today was the final day of VBS!  Molly had an absolute blast at "Crocodile Dock". Her age group were the "Little Crocs" and she loved to chant " VBS Little Crocs"! Each day she got to go to music (I spied on her and it was too cute), go to "drama" to see a little skit, play on the playground and have a special craft and snack. This last day she got to wear her VBS t shirt and that was the highlight of her week- ha! I even let her get on stage and dance along with the big kids and the band.

This is Molly doing the motions to one of her favorite VBS songs
"Everybody get down low..."
Chanting for the Little Crocs!
Posing in front of one of her favorite characters, Flash Firelfly.

We had a great week! It is so much fun to see that many people together having fun and praising God! As much fun as we had, we are both glad it is over- we both need a break from the action! Which is why it will be such perfect timing for the 2 of us to head home to Kansas- the most relaxing place in the world to me!

VBS exhaustion!

Sorry for the lack of posts this week. VBS has been SO much fun- but neither Molly or I are used to the non-stop action! (How on earth did I used to work 40 hours a week?!?) This week there has been a lot of this at our house:

We are both totally wiped out!

Living the Princess Life

So, I know I probably post a lot about princesses- but that is because they are a big part of life in our family! Molly just loves them and often declares "I'm a Princess, Mommy... a real Princess!" The funniest thing she says is " I love princesses. I really do." Ha!

A princess can never go wrong in a tutu, fancy shoes and a tiara.
Swimming around in a plastic pool in ones backyard is no reason to skimp on the royal glamour... just wear your durable water tiara!
Just loving the sweet life!

This little girl really is as sweet as they come. We had such a fun weekend, and I couldn't help but tear up when I put Molly to bed Saturday night... sometimes I really can't believe this little doll is mine. This weekend she started saying "I love you, Mommy (or Daddy)", planting big kisses on us and nestling her head on our shoulders. Swoon. She also has started asking for cuddles. She'll say" It's cuddle time" or just "Cuddle me, Mommy". Of course I am more than happy to meet that request! She'll curl up in my arms and want to kiss and snuggle- pure heaven for me!

This week is VBS week- and Molly is SOOOO excited! She loved VBS last year, but was so young she didn't really "get it". This year she sure gets it! SHe talks all about the characters of Crocodile Dock (our theme) is pumped to wear her T-shirt and knows every word to all the VBS songs... except for song number 5... that one is a little too "hard rock" for her, and she refuses to listen to it... and funny enough #5 is Ava's favorite- so different- ha! I know it will be a FUN week... but Molly will be very tuckered out by Friday- wish us luck!

Trip to Louisiana

Warning: photo overload!  Molly and I just got back from a trip to Winnfield, Louisiana to visit Kyle's grandparents. Kyle couldn't take off work, so we made it a girl's trip. G&G have a huge yard that Molly really enjoyed. Molly feasted, met lots of grnamothers friends, played with her little cousins and was generally spoiled rotten. As much as Molly loves her great-grandparents, she was ready to come home and sleep in her own crib! She actually did GREAT in the car both ways- and the 5.5 hour trips were actually kind of relaxing and peaceful- knock on wood- hopefully she will be that content for our upcoming trip to Kansas to see my family!

Grandad, Molly and Grandmother
Molly loved the birdbath and all of Grandmothers gorgeous gardens

She hung out on this swing a lot. She's reading to some of her friends...
Cousin Katie was so fun! She read books and played tag and princesses with Molly
My doll

With one of the giant, beautiful Magnolias

A cool chick
Molly was nuts for cousin Hunter. She followed him around relentlessly, never leaving 6  inches between them. She repeated everything he said and cried when he left!
Hanging in the magnolia tree with her fave person!

Funny Molly things....

This is a no-photo post... just full of the funny things Molly is saying, doing and thinking. She is going through a very easy and sweet period right now- she stopped fighting me on every. little. thing!!! It has been nice! She is still completely consumed by princesses. Obsessed. Loves them. Lives in half reality, half princess land! She has declared she is also a princess and she will be Cinderella for Halloween. I get the biggest kick out of watching Kyle play princesses with her- he is getting good at it!

Molly LOVES the tv show Caillou. LOVES it. She loves to talk about the characters, sing the song, etc.

Molly pretends to know the words to everything- songs, tv shows, the next sentence that is going to come out of my mouth, etc. It is so funny! She will just kind of mutter things under her breath and then shout the words she does know... looking at us all the time to make sure we are impressed she knows all the words!

Molly loves her friends. She talks about them all the time. Wants to be with them all the time. I think she is so so so blessed to already have real friends. She also loves their moms and talks about them to.

This is the age of questions... "what is that?" "What is he doing"  "Where is it going" "what does this say".... etc, etc. Gets exhausting, but I know she is learning and absorbing all the answers, so I try to be very patient... even after answering for the 12th time that the grass is not really doing anything, just hanging out in the ground.

Molly is truly obsessed with Target. Mainly because the majority of her princesses came from Target. She asks to go to Target all the time, and will even ask random people to take her. If you start driving in the general direction of Target, she will get so excited, and then crushed if you start driving a different direction. I LOVE Target, too.. so this is fun for me, but we have to get out of the habit of getting her a princess item each time we go. Whenever you ask her what she wants to do, she replies, "how 'bout Target, Mommy!"

Molly's second favorite place is Claire's. Yes- the cheap-o accessory store in the mall where we all got our ears pierced. They have an entire back wall dedicated to princesses... enough said.

Molly got out of her crib yesterday. She never tried before. I was running errands, but Kyle was in the front yard talking to a neighbor during her nap, and all of a sudden, the mail slot popped open form the inside and Molly said "I want to see Caillou, Daddy"... he was shocked! She hasn't done it since and are hoping it was an isolated event. I am SO not ready to give up the crib. No way!

Molly is so so so excited for VBS! We listen to the CD constantly, and she knows all the words and most of the motions. She chants "VBS, Little Crocs" all the time (theme is Crocodile Dock!) and can't wait to get her VBS t-shirt!

Molly is very into weddings and getting married. All of her princess stories end with them marrying their prince. She also loves to look at y wedding photos and hear our wedding song (Marvin Gaye, Let's Stay Together:)) . So now she talks about how she is going to get married in a blue dress and she is going to marry: Daddy, Prince Phillip (sleeping beauty's prince) or Milam. She is going to dance with them ,kiss and then ride away on a yellow horse!

She spends her days: playing outside, playing with princesses, swimming, doing sidewalk chalk, having tea parties, helping me with chores, dancing to music, going on walks, reading books, playing (or attempting to play) games like hide and seek, tag and red light green light, playing with Little People, playing with her Snap n' Style dolls, taking care of baby dolls and just being the most precious baby girl in the whole wide world.

Time is just moving way too fast and I wish I could freeze time. I HOPE I can remember all of these wonderful little memories... she is so much more than I ever could have dreamed of.
