Funny Molly things....

This is a no-photo post... just full of the funny things Molly is saying, doing and thinking. She is going through a very easy and sweet period right now- she stopped fighting me on every. little. thing!!! It has been nice! She is still completely consumed by princesses. Obsessed. Loves them. Lives in half reality, half princess land! She has declared she is also a princess and she will be Cinderella for Halloween. I get the biggest kick out of watching Kyle play princesses with her- he is getting good at it!

Molly LOVES the tv show Caillou. LOVES it. She loves to talk about the characters, sing the song, etc.

Molly pretends to know the words to everything- songs, tv shows, the next sentence that is going to come out of my mouth, etc. It is so funny! She will just kind of mutter things under her breath and then shout the words she does know... looking at us all the time to make sure we are impressed she knows all the words!

Molly loves her friends. She talks about them all the time. Wants to be with them all the time. I think she is so so so blessed to already have real friends. She also loves their moms and talks about them to.

This is the age of questions... "what is that?" "What is he doing"  "Where is it going" "what does this say".... etc, etc. Gets exhausting, but I know she is learning and absorbing all the answers, so I try to be very patient... even after answering for the 12th time that the grass is not really doing anything, just hanging out in the ground.

Molly is truly obsessed with Target. Mainly because the majority of her princesses came from Target. She asks to go to Target all the time, and will even ask random people to take her. If you start driving in the general direction of Target, she will get so excited, and then crushed if you start driving a different direction. I LOVE Target, too.. so this is fun for me, but we have to get out of the habit of getting her a princess item each time we go. Whenever you ask her what she wants to do, she replies, "how 'bout Target, Mommy!"

Molly's second favorite place is Claire's. Yes- the cheap-o accessory store in the mall where we all got our ears pierced. They have an entire back wall dedicated to princesses... enough said.

Molly got out of her crib yesterday. She never tried before. I was running errands, but Kyle was in the front yard talking to a neighbor during her nap, and all of a sudden, the mail slot popped open form the inside and Molly said "I want to see Caillou, Daddy"... he was shocked! She hasn't done it since and are hoping it was an isolated event. I am SO not ready to give up the crib. No way!

Molly is so so so excited for VBS! We listen to the CD constantly, and she knows all the words and most of the motions. She chants "VBS, Little Crocs" all the time (theme is Crocodile Dock!) and can't wait to get her VBS t-shirt!

Molly is very into weddings and getting married. All of her princess stories end with them marrying their prince. She also loves to look at y wedding photos and hear our wedding song (Marvin Gaye, Let's Stay Together:)) . So now she talks about how she is going to get married in a blue dress and she is going to marry: Daddy, Prince Phillip (sleeping beauty's prince) or Milam. She is going to dance with them ,kiss and then ride away on a yellow horse!

She spends her days: playing outside, playing with princesses, swimming, doing sidewalk chalk, having tea parties, helping me with chores, dancing to music, going on walks, reading books, playing (or attempting to play) games like hide and seek, tag and red light green light, playing with Little People, playing with her Snap n' Style dolls, taking care of baby dolls and just being the most precious baby girl in the whole wide world.

Time is just moving way too fast and I wish I could freeze time. I HOPE I can remember all of these wonderful little memories... she is so much more than I ever could have dreamed of.

Little Luke and Molly

We went to visit my dear friend Heather, her husband Adam and their adorable little boy, Luke. Molly was really excited to see Luke and was asking about him all day- when we got there she got to go wake him up from his nap and she got a big kick out of that. She loved playing with him, smooching him and "taking care of him". She even got in his exersaucer and jumperoo! By the end of the evening she was curled up in my lap fake crying and saying she was a baby... she didn't want me to forget she was still my sweet baby:)

Don't worry... she's going in for a smooch... not a bite!

Summer fun

Well- summer is certainly here! It is sunny and hot and kids are starting to end their school year. We have been living outside before it gets TOO hot!
Today we met Hannah and Ava for a picnic in the park. The girls had a blast together as usual!

Molly's pretend make-up kit was a hit. hannah made and excellent make-up artist and did all of our faces up.

This is so funny to me because Ava is usually the sillier one, and Molly is usually more serious... but you wouldn't guess it from this shot:)
Ring around the Rosie
The professor! I found these at the park- and they make Molly's eyes HUGE, but she declared she was "beautiful" in them!
Some sweet shots of my girl...

I call these next photos "Big Guy on a Small Bench".....

Thanks for being such a good Dad!

The return of the elephant

Molly had a blast in her elephant pool last summer and she was thrilled for him to come back out today!  I bet we spend MANY summer afternoons just like this!

FOr those who know Molly well, you know she is saying "Ah ah ah Ariel" right now!

The Amazing Bucket Head!

My Angel

I love these photos! I think they are sweet as can be. Molly had just woken up from a record-setting 3.5 hour nap (Usually I'm lucky if she sleeps for 45 minutes!) and she was in the most beautiful nightgown and the most precious mood. I just wanted to eat her up. Sometimes I still have to pinch myself that I got lucky enough to be this little doll's Mommy:)

She melts my heart!

1st swim of the year!

This afternoon it warmed up and we headed to Milam's for a swim. I was so excited to see how Molly would do in the pool this year. She loved it! She wore a life jacket and she loved jumping in (very daintily and gently!) and floating on her back.  I was so impressed that Milam can swim and is a total dare devil in the pool! He put little Molly's jumps and splashes to shame:) After their swim the kids got to enjoy a popsicle and play. Molly LOVES to play with Milam and has developed quite a crush on him. She was bold and made the first move, but Milam wouldn't go for it. You better watch out, Milam.... us Hickey girls don't give up easily!

2 Sweet Kiddos
So funny!
Molly going in for a smooch... and getting the cold shoulder!
Check out Milam's face! He is keeping an eye on Molly to make sure she doesn't try again!

Now it feels like summer is right around the corner. Molly is at such a fun age, I know it is going to be such a great summer!

Cuteness

Nothing new to report- just some sweet photos of the girl. She hasn't actually looked at the camera (without me bribing or tricking her!) in ages- so I was pretty excited to get these! In fact, sometimes when she sees me going for the camera she will say "No camera right now, Mommy"... Ha ha!

She thinks this face is REALLY funny!

Morning Tea Party

Tea Parties are a common occurrence in our house. With all of the rain we have had lately, we have been cooped up and had quite a lot of them. This one was extra special because we drank real tea, instead of water or "pretend tea"!

Getting ready for the big event

My Little Worker Bee

Molly is still VERY much in the "I do it all by myself" stage. While most of the time it is pretty exasperating, it does have an upside- this child LOVES to work on a job! Give her a broom, a duster, tell her to put all the books up- she will work tirelessly! So, today we worked on planting flowers. She loved picking out the plants and flowers! She also was truly a big help in planting them:) She normally hates being messy or dirty, so she started to panic about the dirt, but got over it quickly. She was very ready to take a shower, though!

The fruits of our labor!

This is the dirtiest my little doll has ever been!

A darling story:
The flower nursery is across the street from the hospital where Molly was born and I always tell her about when she was born whenever we drive by. Yesterday, Molly told me the story. It was SO sweet. It went like this " Baby Molly born right there. I in Mommy's belly. Mommy push and push. It so hard. Baby Molly come out and say "waaah". I get a Bee Wee (blanket) and Mommy hold you. Baby Molly so happy." Swoon. What a doll baby.

Molly's New 'Do

Molly got a hair cut! She did SO good, too! Her first haircut experience was rough, so I had been doing it myself with mixed results. We got an excellent referral to get it cut at Stride Rite and it was great! Molly loved it and didn't want to leave! The lady cut much more than I originally wanted.... but now I am glad she did! I think her little bob suits her, and shows off her sweet face. :)

How stylish!
