Happy Birthday, Sweet Molly

So, today Molly is three. I would be a liar if I said my heart wasn't breaking a bit and that I haven't shed a few tears today. I just can't get over how quickly 3 years passed. In the blink of an eye she went from a helpless 6 pound infant, to a kid. Boo Hoo. Sometimes I wish I could rewind time just for on day and hold her tiny body in my arms. I swear I wouldn't put her down and I would memorize every little thing on her sweet body. Okay, I am really bawling now! As much as I am mourning her past, I couldn't be more excited about her future. Molly is my little buddy. We are a team. I know that will only solidify as she grows up. Here are some things I LOVE about my little one:
1. She is literally gaga for me. Yes- this is smothering, but what a feeling to be somebody's sun and moon. I'm so lucky to mean so much to someone as wonderful as her.
2. She is so funny. The things this child says keep me laughing all day.
3. She is so girlie. What a dream come true for me.
4. She is very spiritual. Molly talks openly and often about how much she loves God and Jesus. If someone is mean- she says it is because they don't have God in their hearts. Her prayers will bring tears to your eyes, and make you chuckle, too! She uses her belief in God to help her when she is sad or scared. My number one wish for Molly is that she would come to know Jesus at a young age. I am so thankful this wish came true.
5. Her imagination. She is rarely "Molly" and I am rarely "Mommy". In the course of one day, both of us have been no fewer than 2 dozen people, animals or inanimate objects- ha!
6. She is calm.
7. She is compassionate. She cares about her friends, family and those she doesn't even know.
8. She is MINE! Sometimes I am just dumbstruck that she is mine. What did I do to deserve Molly? Out of all the babies in the world... I got her. I will be thanking God till the day I day for that.

As some of my friends have done- I'm posting pics of this past year of Molly. I didn't think she changed that much this past year- but these photos prove otherwise!

A woman I met at Church with 4 kids gave me this great idea. Each year on the child's Birthday, interview them with the same set of questions. You can compare how they change each year. So without further ado, this is Molly Ryan at 3 years old:

1. What do you want to be when you grow up? A Princess.
2. What is your favorite food? French Fries and Mac n' Cheese
3. What is your Favorite color? Light Blue
4. What is your favorite toy? Princesses.
5. What is your favorite book? Princess books.
6. What is your favorite place to be? Chick-a-play (Chik-fil-a!) and Vail
7. What is your favorite thing to do? Play in the playroom and snuggle.
8. What is your favorite animal? A cow.
9. What is your favorite song? Old MacDonald
10. Who do you want to marry when you grow up? Caleb (Kings of Leon lead singer)
11. Who is your best friend: This one made her nervous. She changed her mind at least 9 times. She settled with the answer "all of them".

Photo Shoot

I have not been super motivated to blog because M has been difficult to photograph lately- she just shuts down when the camera comes out. So- today I was taking some pics of Topsy and Molly got jealous and insisted I give her a photo shoot. If that is all it takes, I'll take Topsy's pics everyday! Too bad Molly is in a tiara and a lovely Princess Tiana nightgown. Oh well- I'll take what I can get!

This little guy loves to play. So thankful for the nice weather- makes raising a puppy SO much easier!
He's already getting bigger!
Some really funny poses....

I'll have to try this trick tomorrow when the girl has some real clothes on- ha~

And Puppy makes 4!

What a PERFECT weekend we had! besides the absolutley ideal weather we had, we shared it with our friends- so it was so fun! Saturday we went to Kelly's house for the St. patty's Day parade. It is BIG in Dallas- and wild and crazy. Kelly lives just off the main strip of the parade and party so we could hang outside with our kiddies and feel like we were a part of the action without actually getting into the nitty gritty ( and I do mean GRITTY!) Then today we celebrated Ava's 3rd B-Day in their awesome backyard. Such a sweet party! But- of course the main event of our weekend was the arrival of this little man:

He couldn't be a better dog. Honestly. This little guy has had NO accidents and goes outside within 5 seconds every time. He slept through the night until 7. He knows how to walk on a leash. He fetches. He snuggles. He only chews on his toys. He hasn't even barked yet. He is PERFECT! We love him so much already and are so happy to have him in our little family. Molly loves him so much... and is slightly jealous of all the attention I am giving him! She even crawled in his crate and asked me to pet her like I pet Topsy. Oh, man! But- she says she is SO happy to have him and "wants to keep him all the days and all the nights". So sweet!
All that playing is hard work for a pup. He plays hard and then totally crashes!

Best Day Ever!!!!

Today was just heavenly. We woke up and went out to breakfast and then made the long drive to Eureka, TX... outside of Corsicana. We made our way to Timshell Farms to "go play with some puppies"... or so we told Molly. We were really picking out her new Puppy! Here he is:

Is he not ADORABLE?!? We played with all of them- looked at their coats and demeanor and in the end had it narrowed down to 3. This little guy chose Molly. He followed her everywhere and didn't nip or scratch.
Our new family of 4! Ha!
The puppies are "comfort Doodles". Daddy is a King Charles Cavalier and Mommy is a Golden Doodle (golden retriever and poodle mix). He will be about 25-30 pound when full grown and won't shed! Molly has already said if she ever gets a puppy, he will be named "Topsy"... so meet Topsy! He'll be ready to come home next weekend and we'll pop a bow on him and stick him in a box to surprise our baby girl. I CANNOT wait!

To make the day even better I fell asleep while Molly napped and woke up to watch the Jayhawks cream Mizzou and cruise into #1 spot and a guaranteed number 1 seed in the tourney. Rock Chalk!

Kyle went to the Car Show (yuck) so Molly and I did something I have been dreaming about for years.... we got our nails done. She was SO excited an did so so good. She chose a light blue (her fave color) for her fingers and toes. She sat very still. She loved the bubbly warm foot bath, but her fave part was the massage! They were all so sweet and kind to her. I look forward to doing this together forever.
Kim showing her how to hold her hands just right
Getting ready for the leg rub- her favorite part (mine, too!)
